Clinical Engineering
The activities of Clinical Engineering are increasingly assisting the management of medical equipment in health institutions. Increasing the complexity of technological resources impose their effective management mainly due to the sophisticated combination of several components and mechanisms that require periodic and preventive controls, revisions and maintenance.
Clinic Engineering has been providing healthcare professionals with the assurance of safety, reliability and efficiency of medical-hospital equipment. It promotes the most appropriate use of new equipment incorporated into the units, as well as those already existing and installed decisively for the management of equipment through its programs: Acquisition - Installation - Training - Maintenance - Result.
Program of acquisition: specification, feasibility and planning for the acquisition. It assists in the detailed description of the equipment, with all the information about its use, technical details, consumption capacity, warranty, equipment performance, etc.
Installation program: it is of the utmost importance, since a correct installation complying with technical standards greatly increases the life of the equipment. Due to the sophistication that comes from the equipment in the medical-hospital sector, they require more attention in their installation system.
Training Program: This program is fundamental for the correct use of equipment, the training program covers educational campaigns, recycling, research and events, as well as continuous training of operators through continuing education programs.
Maintenance Program: is a broad and fundamental program to increase the capacity, useful life and full use of equipment. Here also the Clinical Engineering contributes a lot being the area directly responsible for the maintenance of the equipment.
Result Program: This program has increased equipment life by identifying, mainly, the causes of greater occurrence of the failures presented.
ASSISTMÉDICA counts with Clinical and Biomedical Technicians and Engineers applying the programs of management of the Clinical Engineering, being responsible for the administration, control and planning of the equipment in several hospitals in the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte.
Activities performed by ASSISTMÉDICA:
- Evaluation of purchased equipment and planning for acquisition of new units;
- Management of medical equipment costs;
- Calibration with certificate issuance with traceability standard;
- Maintenance of equipment of several brands already existing in hospital units;
- Safety tests and equipment performance;
- Control of equipment inventory;
- Coordination / maintenance follow-up;
- Training of the clinical staff / operators in safety and efficient use of equipment and systems;
- Providing information for the design of facilities where medical technology is a primary component such as operating room, intensive care units (ICU), etc .;
- Development and implementation of protocols requested by external regulatory bodies;
Another important aspect of maintenance is the calibration of equipment that uses measurements, requiring a frequent revision of the measurement systems.
Thus, allying modern medical equipment with the techniques of Clinical Engineering demonstrate how the interdisciplinarity of the areas can offer continuous improvement of the services offered to patients, since Clinical Engineering is the agent agent between equipment, clinical body and patient.
ASSISTMÉDICA offers to its clients the services of Corrective and Preventive Maintenance with application of the Clinical Engineering programs and Consultancies with Cynical Engineers and Biomedical Technicians qualified to assist in the decision making for technology acquisition.
